Storms over

the Hunter region and Central Coast-a series of storms that began on Friday, 8 June 2007 and led to extensive flooding, destruction and loss of life in the Hunter region and Central Coast in New South Wales in Australia. Intensive lowland systems developed over the central coast of New South Wales on the night June 7, within the next 36 hours the area of Hunter and Central Coast have been hit by strong winds and torrential rains. The number of casualties on 8 June was two, but June 9 the number increased to 10 deaths [1] [2]. Rainfall exceeded 300 mm in the Hunter region and 200 mm in the Central Coast and Sydney.
